Henlo Shibes! We're glad you've joined us for the latest edition of Shibe Weekly.
Our newsletter is a weekly round-up of the most noteworthy events and happenings within the Doge community on Twitter. We focus on highlighting the innovative projects and initiatives being developed by fellow Shibes, rather than focusing on financial news. However, as the topic of cryptocurrency is inherently linked to finance, some financial matters may be discussed. Please note that any financial information provided should not be taken as financial advice.
Weekly Round-Up

Weekly Notice
We observed a bit of confusion circulating about crypto wallets this week and would like to clear it up. Cryptocurrency wallets do not physically store assets, but instead, they hold private keys that allow access and management of assets on the blockchain.
A private key is a secret code, similar to a password, used to access and perform transactions with digital assets. Each wallet address has a unique private key that is used to sign transactions and prove ownership. When sending or receiving cryptocurrency, the ownership of assets is recorded on the blockchain, but the assets themselves do not move. It is crucial to keep the private key secure as it can be used to access and manage assets if accessed by someone else.
In addition to private keys, there is something called a seed phrase, also known as a recovery phrase, which is a set of words used to generate and restore access to a wallet if needed. A seed phrase is typically a series of 12-24 words and is easy to memorize and write down, as it's a more human-readable format of the private key.

When it comes to staying informed about security and privacy in the Dogecoin community, we believe Mishaboar is a valuable resource to follow. Misha is known for his consistent efforts to keep Shibes well-informed about these important topics through initiatives like "Back-up Wednesdays".

Community & Culture
Dogecoin.com
In addition to being a valuable source of information, Mishaboar has also recently proposed guidelines for contributing to the Dogecoin.com website repository. These guidelines aim to increase transparency, establish clear rules for pull requests, and prevent any one individual or group from having too much control over the repository, while also preventing mistakes that could have negative consequences for the community.
It is important to note that these guidelines are not meant to be a response to any specific incident or to attack anyone, but to help achieve the goals of the website and protect the efforts of all contributors. This proposal serves as a starting point for discussion.

Fundraising Shibe!
Recently, artist ApolloDoge successfully raised $690 from the sales of his "God is Always Watching" NFT, which he generously donated to Free Arts NYC. This non-profit organization provides art and mentoring programs for youth from under-served communities, helping them to build their creativity, self-confidence, and skills for success.
Free Arts NYC expressed their gratitude for ApolloDoge's contributions, praising the unique and innovative crypto community for using their talents to support young people and make a positive impact.

Products & Development
TorV3
Dogecoin is taking a big step towards greater privacy and security with the integration of TorV3. TorV3 is the latest version of the Tor software, a free and open-source tool that enables anonymous communication by routing internet traffic through a network of volunteer-run servers. It is designed to protect users' privacy and anonymity by preventing third parties from tracking their online activities.
This integration will allow Dogecoin nodes to access the Tor network, providing a greater resistance to censorship and targeted node attacks. This is an important development for Dogecoin Core users, especially node runners who value privacy and security!
The work on this implementation has been underway for a few months now, but seems to be nearing completion. If you’re looking to learn more about the project, we’d recommend you start here:

MyDoge Mask
The software development company, MyDoge, Inc. has brought many dogey-delights to the community over the past year. These include tools and services such as their social wallet and Twitter tipping integration. This week, MyDoge has unveiled the first glimpse of their latest project: an open-source wallet extension for Chrome.
A Chrome extension wallet is a powerful tool that allows users to access their cryptocurrencies directly from their web browser. This new functionality opens up a wide range of possibilities for using Dogecoin on the web, and according to MyDogeCTO, the beta launch of this new product is imminent.
Such a product should allow users to easily and securely manage their Dogecoin from their browser, making it more accessible and convenient for everyday use. The launch of the chrome extension wallet is exciting news for Shibes, as it will likely increase the adoption and usage of the cryptocurrency.
Business & Markets
MOAR WALLETS
Robinhood, a popular crypto exchange and currently the largest single holder of Dogecoin, has responded to a query from Doge Whisperer regarding support for Dogecoin in their new crypto wallet.
The specific details of Robinhood's response are unclear, but it seems that the company has acknowledged the inquiry and is providing information about their plans for supporting Dogecoin in their wallet.

According to data from BitInfoCharts.com and tweets from WhaleGooBrr, Robinhood's Dogecoin holdings currently represent a significant portion, around 25%, of the total circulating supply of Doge. This raises some concerns about the centralization of Dogecoin in the hands of a single entity, as well as the potential risks to investors who entrust their assets to a centralized platform.
The proposal of a new wallet support by Robinhood could potentially address these concerns by giving users more control over their own assets and enabling them to manage their crypto in a more decentralized way. It will be interesting to see how this development will affect the distribution and decentralization of Dogecoin in the future.

That’s it, that’s the Newsletter.
